VSU Commits to Monumental Message of Positivity Inspired by Mural in Nation’s Capital

Žɯ brands campus with nearly block long message believed to be the only mural of its type on a college campus
Žɯ has unveiled the University's new “Greater Happen Here” mural, inspired by the Black Lives Matter Plaza mural in Washington, D.C. The VSU mural was completed this week on University Avenue in front of the Foster Hall Student Union.
It features a nearly block long message with the mantra painted on the street as a reminder to visitors and everyone on campus of the “greater” work by the VSU students, faculty, and staff. It is believed to be the only mural of its type on a college campus.
“’Greater Happens Here’ is not only a slogan for our Trojan community—it's an affirmation,” said VSU President, Dr. Makola M. Abdullah. “We want to promote to our VSU family that they can make greater happen wherever they are because of this affirmation that they learned to embrace here at Žɯ.”
